The short version: SnippetCraft stores your snippets securely in the cloud only if you create an account. The app itself operates entirely on your device. We don't sell your data, show you ads, or share your content with anyone.
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide SnippetCraft's features.
Account information (optional). If you choose to create an account to enable cloud sync, we collect your email address and a hashed password. You can use SnippetCraft without an account — all snippet data stays local on your device.
Snippet data. When you enable sync, your snippets (names, trigger sequences, descriptions, and content) are uploaded to and stored on our cloud infrastructure so they can be synchronized across your devices.
App usage (non-personal). We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage statistics such as app version, macOS version, and crash reports to improve stability. This data cannot be used to identify you.

Your snippet data is stored and synchronized using Supabase, an open-source backend platform with enterprise-grade security.
Supabase stores data on servers hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. You can review Supabase's own privacy and security practices at supabase.com/privacy.
Local-only mode. If you use SnippetCraft without signing in, no snippet data ever leaves your device. All snippets are stored exclusively in a local database on your Mac.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. We share data with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:
We retain your account information and synced snippet data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.
Anonymized crash and usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for analytical purposes.

SnippetCraft is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email. Your continued use of SnippetCraft after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
